Boden spring picks

Boden currently have 25% off all their clothes until tomorrow plus free delivery. I've just ordered this short sleeved breton in ivory/raspberry:

This versatile top will go with denim, white or black jeans (or skirts). Other things I like from Boden, but didn't buy are, firstly, this Ravello top.  It contains silk, which gives it a more dressy feel and can be worn as in the picture with smart trousers either tucked in or out.

Another top I like is this one:

This Heather Top has pretty embroidery on it but has a relaxed look and can be dressed up or down.

Most of the dresses are above the knee and I prefer knee length, but I did find a couple I liked, which would be great for holiday or a warm summer day here!

This shirtdress is available in several prints and has a 1950s vibe about it.

I also like this halter necked dress:

As mentioned this would be great to take on holiday and both of the above dresses would look good with the following rose gold strappy sandals:

Hopefully I may be able to get some of the other items above if Boden has another offer on soon. If you miss the 25% offer then there is 20% off everything on Tuesday and 10% off on Wednesday. Happy Shopping!

Style Inspiration - Grace Kelly

Actress Grace Kelly, who became Princess Grace of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier, was one of the greatest style icons of her time. Her style was romantic and classic with a touch of natural. She was the 'girl next door' but looked impeccable in everything she wore. Like her name she had a natural grace about her in her smile and the way she moved. No wonder people still like to emulate the way she dressed.

In the lower photo above, Grace is wearing a simple shirt, jeans rolled up and loafers. The only jewellery she is wearing are small earrings and she has minimal make-up, yet she still manages to look effortlessly chic.

In the top photo, Grace looks groomed to perfection with her hair in a chignon and a hat perfectly positioned. Tortoiseshell framed sunglasses, pearl earrings and a scarf are the accessories of choice.

Although these photos are around 50-60 years old, the styles of clothing have somehow never dated.  You can wear these styles just as much in 2015 as 1955/60. Taking inspiration from the top photo, below are some clothes from Boden that are 21st century Grace Kelly style:

Tragically, Grace Kelly died in a car crash in Monaco in 1982 but she and her polished, simple style are still remembered today.

Colour for March - Green

Green is typically the colour for Spring, which this year starts on 20 March. It's the colour of grass, leaves beginning to appear on the trees and daffodil shoots coming through the ground. Green is a restful colour to the eyes (maybe not neon!) but green can be a difficult colour to wear. Let's have a look at the different greens for each personal colour category (Deep, Light, Cool, Warm, Bright, Muted):

Emerald green, pine green and forest green are a few of the greens you can go for. Add true green, olive or moss depending on your secondary colour direction.

Apple green, peacock and light yellow green are some greens that are good for you.

Your greens should have no warmth in them at all (i.e. khaki, moss olive, lime). Go for blue-green, pine, spruce green or sea green.

Those with warm colouring look great in their greens: choose from lime green, moss, khaki, olive, sage to name but a few!

For those with bright colouring  kelly green, lime, emerald turquoise and true green are all good, depending on your secondary colour direction.

If you have soft, muted colouring then wear greens such as sage, grey-green, soft yellow-green or sea green.

Have you found your perfect green yet? The clothes above are all from Kettlewell Colours.
